About Me
Before I say anything else, "Shhh" is NOT my favorite word. I do not wear my hair in a bun. I only occasionally wear a cardigan. I don't have my reading glasses on a chain. I do have a tattoo and yes, it is a book character. Our school library is sometimes a little crazy and loud (we like to have fun!). Students are talking about books, reading, listening to stories, sharing their passions, collaborating, researching, discovering, exploring and creating. Our library is the place to be!
I love to learn! I went to school a lot. My husband was worried I'd never stop. I earned my bachelor's degree in special education from Eastern Michigan University and was a special education teacher for two years and then a 5th grade teacher for ten years. For as long as I can remember, I loved reading and children's literature, which led me to earn my master's degree in the teaching of reading from Oakland University. A few years later, after taking a few classes in administration, my heart was telling me to become a librarian. I earned my second master's degree in library and information science from Wayne State University. This is my eleventh year as Grandview's librarian. My goal as librarian is to share my love of learning and passion for reading with the students. I love what I do and I am proud to be, according to a 2nd grader, "A good computer woman and a good liberrian."
